The Winter Palace (print size: 16"x12"): I wonder what's going on at the Palace today? Some very important persons in the Imperial Carriages, I'm sure. The Winter Palace started out to be an experiment in creating my first winter scene, and turned into an extremely involved project. The Palace and carriages were created in 3DStudio MAX, with a lot more detail than can be appreciated in this scene... the palace alone took a couple of weeks to complete. (to see a close up of the palace: Chateau Brumal) As a guide, I used photos from my trip to Russia a number of years ago, as I wanted it to have a Russian, or eastern flavor to it. The carriages were designed with the same idea in mind, and were sketched from a movie about Catherine the Great of Russia. The winter scene its self was created in World Builder.
