Athene: is part of the Goddess Series. (check out the 'purchase art' link above to see more in the series, or if you are interested in a print). She was called Athena by both the Greeks and the Romans, however I've chosen Homer's spelling of her name. She was the Goddess of war as well as wisdom and the arts. She is known for her showy helmet, and is often depicted holding a spear. In this image I've given her a bow, but the arrow behind her shield could be a spear. Athene was hand painted in Photoshop, using a graphics pad. She's also available as an ornamental tile. (tiles link below)
